Profile
I work for the Department of National Defence as the English editor of the DND/Canadian Forces newspaper The Maple Leaf.
To relax, I freelance as a writer, editor and
designer, producing newsletters, brochures, technical manuals
and other products for various groups and associations.
For both public- and private-sector clients,
I've worked as editor, writer, journalist, copy editor, proofreader,
desktop publisher and Website designer/Webmaster. I've designed
and laid out daily and community newspapers—tabloid and broadsheet—and
magazines, and created posters, pamphlets, ads and items such
as personal journals.
I've both written and edited public affairs
products such as news releases, media advisories, backgrounders,
fact sheets and speeches, and have worked on communications
plans. As well, I've created and/or maintained public- and
private-sector databases.
I enjoy teamwork and working alone. Bottom line: I love the work – every facet of it.
